Years ago I had the opportunity to spend some time in Innsbruck, but the camera I used got stolen. In January of 2026 the opportunity presented itself for me to try again when my son and I visited the city.
We arrived in Munich and took the regional train to Innsbruck as it is advertised to be the scenic route. Takes a bit longer than the fast train…an extra 90 minutes, but for the views it was worth it. NotebookLM built this info graphic for me.

Using NotebookLM I created the attached PDF which will fill you in on a planning document I used for our trip. It was created in late December 2025 so doublecheck any pricing information.
The pdf above captures most of the touristy informational stuff so for now I’ll make this one short.
Make sure to take the Nordkette to the top. There is a station about 2/3 of the way up which costs less but pay the difference and go all the way to the top. You won’t regret it. Here are a couple of pics. It only takes a few minutes to make it all the way to the top.

The old city
Well like any city in Austria historical buildings are on every corner with so much rich history. We were lucky enough to catch the last of the holiday’s before it was all taken down. Just a random selection of pics.

We were in Innsbruck only 2 days, but really that’s all you need if you are not hiking in the mountains or skiing.
It’s a bucket list city. Just is.

A local expression you might hear spoken “Servus” from the Latin it translates to “I am your servant”. During the Habsburg Dynasty the servants used it when addressing Royalty. Today it is typically used to say Hello and Goodbye.
Servus 🙂
